Gail spent her childhood coloring in any coloring book she could find, along with free-handing her favorite themes of dogs, clouds, fields and flowers. In high school, she received an art scholarship and completed her first year of college as an art major. After her freshman year she put her pursuit of art aside and went on to obtain a BA in Business and a MS in Environmental Studies.
During her time as a Park Ranger in California, she visited Colorado and fell in love with the mountains, aspens and specifically Boulder. After several years as a Park Ranger, she moved into the world of Athletics working in Major League Baseball. But, in 1994 her dream to move to Colorado came true and she and her husband Chris moved to Boulder where she enjoyed a 20+ year career in the Athletic Department at the University of Colorado.
Having recently worked with The Nature Conservancy in Boulder, she was called back to her desire to create and began to explore new media. She has taken courses in acrylics and mixed media from Flora Bowley, Tracey Verdugo and has taken workshops from Boulder’s Lael Har. But her style was found when she took in-person and on-line workshops in “Zen Painting” with Jodi Ohl.
Her love of mountains, aspens and dogs are the main features of her recent work. She is an active member of the Boulder Humane Society and donates a portion of her sales to benefit the organization and animal rescue efforts.
Gail shows her work locally at the R Gallery in Boulder and Art at the Center in Nederland. Her work has also appeared in the Boulder Museum, Cafe Aion and at Art At The River in Lyons. She is a member of the Boulder Art Association and Boulder County Art Alliance.
